I know this isn't Amiga related, but since things are in a bit of a holding pattern as far as the AmigaOS goes, I was wondering if anyone wanted to share their Linux experiences with me.
I'm a total noob when it comes to Linux except for a very very VERY short trial with Mandrake 8.1 a few years back with a motherboard that should have been put out to pasture. Almost everything I've read seems to recommend Ubuntu as the flavor to begin with. Anyone worked with it? Any thoughts?

Mandrake 8.1 (maybe it was 7) is also all of my Linux experience as well unless you count Coyote Linux. Coyote is a real simple build that fits on a floppy for the sole purpose of functioning as a router/firewall. It worked really well on an old Micron 486 (upgraded with Pentium overdrive) with 64MB ram.

I've decided to take the plunge. Hopefully it will go a bit smoother than last time. I'm sure that there's a night & day difference since back then. If you're interested I can keep you posted on my progress, or lack of.
