I sent out a mailing to everyone that I have a current email address for today. If you didn't get one and would like to receive future letters please send me your current email address.
Also, the email to Jeff Baggett from Greensboro was returned as undeliverable. If anyone knows Jeff or how to contact him please let me know. Thanks. |

Did you get any replies? I don't know how many are still around, and there may not be much new to see unless we wait a bit later in the year.

Tony, Cameron and Bob have all said that they're interested. Lyle would like to but said it isn't feasible since he's so far away now. I'm still waiting to hear back from the others.
Unfortunately, I don't feel that the lack of interest is from lack of software or hardware to demo as it is that many folks have just moved on. The momentum that was lost and the damage that was done to get from the first release of new hardware and OS 4.0 to where we are now is enormous. My hope is to get folks together for a social get together and have what hardware and software we can present in the hopes that they get bitten by the bug again. First step is getting them there I suppose. I'm not giving up though and hopefully a few more replies will trickle in. Once I have a rough idea of what attendance might be I can start working on a few ideas I've got.
Do you ever hear from John anymore? Did he get rid of his machine? |

It's a shame that things went the way they did. When I first started contacting everyone years ago, I was astonished at the number of people who turned out, and was happy to keep the dream alive, even at my own expense.
Things took a turn in my mind when one of the Friedens (Thomas I believe) jumped me on Amigaworld and accused me of trying to ruin them and spread lies about them. Basically talked to me like I was one of Bill Bucks henchmen or something. After all I had done to try and get people back into Amiga, and let everyone know about OS4, I felt like all of my enthusiasm was zapped out of me by the very team I was trying to promote.
I've had little interest ever since. Maybe I shouldn't have taken it personally, but I did. And yes, I feel like I've moved on. These days most of my stuff is done on my Mac. I built a new Core 2 Duo PC last year, and went high spec with it, but hardly ever use it.
I guess I'm just getting older and mostly just care less these days.
If there is another meeting, I can probably bring a good bit of Amiga stuff for give away. Alot of it was given to me to begin with. _________________

Tony,
I hate the way things ended up working out. A lot of very good people left the scene at right about that time it seems and most haven't returned and I don't know if they ever will. A lot of people saw OS 4 and the new hardware for the first time because of your efforts and that's something to remember and be proud of.
I enjoy the gatherings even if they're now mostly a social get together instead of showcasing the platform. With my own inexperience and the loss of Doug and his ability to show the latest and greatest it has been hard to get anything too flashy together.
That being said, I'm stubborn and still willing to get together those that I can and show what I can and have a good time hanging out with everybody on a Saturday afternoon. Everyone has missed you being a fixture at the meetings.
I plan on trying to contact those I haven't heard from yet again later this summer in the hopes that folks will have more free time as summer vacation comes to an end and there's a lull before the holidays start. |

I apologize for replying so late to the thread, but I just wanted to let you know I'm still around.
Tony, I know the feeling when you get jumped by a developer. I believe it was Joe Fenton from the Fusion emulation folks that blasted me after posting some constructive/realistic criticism about twelve years ago. Funny thing was it was not even directed at his product. No wonder so many have left.
Anyway, if any dates surface let me know. I'm always looking for an excuse for a road trip |

FYI for those interested, the "Shelby" Hamfest (which is now at Dallas, NC) is this weekend. I usually run into David and Geoffrey Cox there. Lots of great electronic junk to be found. If anyone is planning on going, give me a shout.
